Tom Creedon Cup Launch & Draw 2018 2018-01-01 19:00:00

The Tom Creedon Cup 2018 was launched on Monday, January 1st, at FitzGerald's Bookshop, Macroom, generous sponsors of the competition.
In attendance at the launch were officers and members of Macroom GAA club, Martin FitzGerald of FitzGerald's Bookshop, County vice-chairman Kevin O Donovan, County PRO Donal Leahy, and members of the Creedon family including Tom Creedon's wife, Marion Creedon-Hegarty, and his sister, Catherine Vaughan. Tom's former team-mate, Tim O'Sullivan recalled his friendship with Tom Creedon, while Marion Creedon-Hegarty thanked all those involved with making the competition such a success. The draw was made by Tim O Sullivan and Marion Creedon-Hegarty.

Round 1 
(A) Ballydesmond v Béal Athan Ghaorthaidh
(B) Macroom v Naomh Aban

Quarter-Finals 
(1) Ballydesmond/Béal Athan Ghaorthaidh v Macroom/Naomh Aban  
(2) St Michaels v Rockchapel    
(3) Cill na Martra v St Vincent
(4)  Nemo Rangers v Newmarket

Semi-Finals

Final: TBC @ Macroom

Usual regulations apply: 

  • All Intermediate and Premier Intermediate football teams eligible
  • All games home or away with first team out at home in all games except Final
  • Final to be played in Macroom
  • Rounds to be played weekly on a knock-out basis, beginning on January 13th or 20th (depending on number of entries), until completion, with all games fixed for 2.30pm on the Saturday unless agreed otherwise by the two clubs
  • Extra time in all games and extra 5 mins e/w if required 
  • Replays if necessary to be played before next round is scheduled 
  • Referees appointed by County Board. 
  • No league points allowed for 2018 leagues except on Final if agreed
  • Any postponed games must be played before the scheduled date of the next round
