Cork Senior Footballer, Colm O Neill (29) announced his retirement from inter-county football due to medical advice via
The Ballyclough man made his senior début in 2009 against Donegal, and has worked with the last four Cork managers, Conor Counihan, Brian Cuthbert, Peadar Healy and Ronan McCarthy. He showed great courage and determination during his career to overcome three cruciate knee ligament injuries. The highlights of his career would include winning the All-Ireland SFC and captaining Cork to All-Ireland U21 FC success. He experienced success in his ten-year service, winning 1 Munster MFC (2005), 1 Munster MHC (2006), 1 Munster U-21 Hurling (2007), 2 Munster U21 FC (2007, 2009),  2 Munster SFC (2009, 2012), 2 All-Ireland U21 FC (2007, 2009), 1 All-Ireland SFC (2010), Cadbury's Hero of the Future 2009, 4 NFL (09, 10, 11,12), 1 Sigerson Medal, All-Star 2012.
