Irish Language Signage project launched

The Irish Language Signage project was launched yesterday in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
In attendance were Lord Mayor Cllr Mick Finn, County Mayor Cllr Patrick Gerard Murphy, County Board Executive (Frank Murphy, Jerry Walsh, Donal Leahy, Diarmuid O Donovan, John Crean), County & City Councillors, County & City Hall representatives, club representatives along with members of the media.
Speakers included Cllr Mick Finn, Cllr Patrick Gerard Murphy, Frank Murphy County Board Runai and County Board Cultural Officer Jerry Walsh who also acted as MC.
This project is the result of a collaborative effort over the last 12 months by Jerry Walsh (County Board), Conor Nelligan (County Hall) and Chris Dorgan (City Hall). The project is funded jointly by the GAA, Cork City Council, Cork County Council and Creative Ireland. The aim of the project is to have a set of standardised Irish language signs across all clubs in the city and county. The signs will be distributed to the clubs over the next few weeks.
