County Committee Meeting 12.02.2019

The County Committee met on February 12th 2019.
A presentation was made to the four schools playing in the Munster Post-Primary Schools’ hurling finals this weekend . CBC Cork will play Midleton CBS in the Dr. Harty Cup under 19A Hurling Final at 2pm in Páirc uí Rinn.The Tom Collum Cup Under 19 B Hurling final will take place at 12 noon between St Francis College Rochestown and Hamilton HS Bandon. The chairperson wished the schools the best of luck and thank them for all their work.
The minutes of 29.01.2019 were read and adopted.
Staffing matters were addressed with the Runaí and Chairperson providing a full report on the circumstances leading to the departure of the Senior Administrator. The Chairperson thanked Diarmuid O’Donovan for his service to Cork GAA. A number of delegates expressed views on the matter.
The Páirc Uí Chaoimh pitch was discussed, with a number of comments made by delegates, and the Chairperson assured those present that whatever action was necessary to solve the fundamental structural issues with the pitch would be taken. She also indicated that it was likely that remaining National League games would be played at Páirc Uí Rinn to ensure that the Páirc Uí Chaoimh pitch was ready for Championship. The Runaí gave a Páirc Uí Chaoimh staff update.
The Under 20 football selectors were announced. The selectors to serve with Keith Ricken are Colm O’Neill (Ballyclough), Maurice Moore (Carbery Rangers) and Pat Spratt (Buttervent) were announced with one more to be appointed .
Match reports from various Cork teams were read out by the Runaí, with the Chairperson reporting that she expected to see the first appointments under the new Cork football plan advertised very soon. She also reported that she had had discussions with Ronan McCarthy on the matter of replacing selectors who had departed, and hoped to have an update for the next meeting.
A number of executive committee issues were discussed.
The championship programme was discussed and clarification was requested in relation to some ongoing transfers.
The Runaí outlined how submissions in relation to the competitions review would be sought from clubs in the next few days, with an open forum being organised for club representatives and further discussion on the matter to take place at the next Board meeting.
Congress motions were discussed and it was decided that, while the Cork delegation would be free to vote as they saw fit in general, the County Board took a particular position on a number of motions including agreeing to support motions 18, 19, 24, 33, 38, and 39. Delegates were not in favour of motion 32, 37 and 40.
The meeting concluded with the passing of votes of sympathy.
