County Committee Meeting 26.02.2019

The County Committee met on February 26th 2019.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and adopted.
Michael O’ Flynn (stadium director) addressed the County Board meeting regarding the cost of the stadium. He outlined his report to the meeting and responded to queries from a number of delegates. The Chairperson thanked Michael O’ Flynn and Tom Gray for the work carried out.
Regarding Páirc Uí Chaoimh, the Chairperson said immediate remedial works would start almost immediately with a view to having the pitch in good condition for the Munster Championships, and that a full replacement of the pitch, along with associated works, would begin after those championships concluded.
Correspondence from Fr. Tom McDermott regarding playing games on Easter Saturday was read and noted.
The Runaí read out reports on inter-county games, and a delegate raised the performance of the Senior Football team, which he felt should be discussed. The Chairperson said that that was a discussion for another day given that our players and management still had some important games ahead in the Allianz League, but that she shared the concern of delegates on this matter.
The progress report was proposed and seconded. The Runai gave a report on Congress, and the Cathaoirleach reported that Jerry O'Sullivan (Cloyne) had informed the Executive that he wished to seek a nomination to run for Uachtarán, to which the Executive had agreed. Good wishes were passed on to Jerry for his campaign.
It was reported that advertisements and job specs were being finalised for the first two appointments to be made under the #2024 Cork Football Plan, the project co-ordinator and high performance director, which would be advertised shortly.
A Financial Planning and Advisory Sub-committee was announced as follows (with one name to be finalised):

Jim Woulfe (Ballyclough) - Dairygold CEO
Kieran Calnan (Carbery Rangers) - former CEO of SWS Ltd. and current Chair of Bórd Iascaigh Mhara
Brendan Keane (Fermoy) - Director Keaneye solutions Ltd, former EMEA Operations Director FMC.
The Development and IT sub-committees were also finalised, and a CCC report was given.
Regarding the strategic review of county competitions 2020, the Chairperson stressed the importance of delegates making their views known and also ensuring that players and other stakeholders attend the meeting that will be held on March 9th. Development Officer Pat Horgan gave an overview of the process and outlined the timeline for the review. Various club delegates then presented a wide range of views on both league and championship competitions and how they could be improved.
Club development projects were approved.
The Chairperson congratulated Midleton CBS, Rochestown College, Patrician Academy Mallow and Boherbue Comprehensive on their recent Munster Post-Primary Schools victories, and wished all Cork representatives well in the All-Ireland Post-Primary series, She also thanked the stewards who had put in a very long shift on the day of the Harty Cup Final.
Congratulations were also extended to UCC on their Sigerson and Fitzgibbon Cup double, and our competitors in the Munster Scór Sinsir Final on Saturday were wished well.
Votes of sympathy were read out, and this concluded the meeting.
