Carbery Blitzes

CARBERY BLITZES
On Wed 24 April in Skibbereen 2 schools St Brendans of Bantry and Abbystrewery Skibbereen , (3rd to 6th class) took part in a Primary Schools Football Blitz.
Over 75 pupils took part in 7-a-side games with each team getting 3 games.
These games took place in Abbystrewery new astro pitch. Both schools are in the Carbery
schools coaching scheme for the first time. This scheme was setup by Coiste Oiliúna Chorcaà in conjunction with the Carbery Junior Board and the Carbery clubs to help service the primary schools in the region.
Under the direction of James MacCarthy and Noel Crowley, coaches have been providing GAA coaching to over 70 schools in the region.
The scheme is proving very popular and the scheme is now being enhanced with the Blitzes currently being rolled out.
