Seandun u13 Development squad

Seandun u13 Hurling development squad coaching clinics for High performance players  will take place on this Weds July 31^st in St Vincents GAA Grounds at 12pm.Premier 1 and Premier 2 Clubs are asked to send 6 players each with all other grades sending 4 players .Please forward players name and position to me on 0867725411 before 7pm on Tuesday evening.

Seandun u14 Hurling and Football squads

These teams have trained and participated in games throughout the summer. U14 Hurling squad will train on Thursday next August 1^st in Blackrock at 11.30am. The football will resume under the guidance of Keith Ricken in August.

Feile u14 Hurling 2013

Congratulations to Douglas u14 team for reaching the final of this year's Feile hurling in Limerick .and to Evan Sheehan Na Piarsaigh who represented Cork and won the Feile Skills competition.

Seandun u13and U14 Hurling development squad camp

Seandun U13 / U14 School of hurling development squad Coaching camp is on Tuesday 6^th August and Thursday 8th August. 2 days in Pairc Ui Rinn. 11am - 1pm both days. We have a host of top coaches and a former intercounty star lined up. All Seandun squad players are requested to attend.   If able to attend text me child's name and club no later than Thursday August 1^st at 12 noon. Places limited. A charge of €2 per day will apply.

The U8 & U10 Monster Blitzes have been a huge success to date.  They will continue over the coming weeks and months.  Please see below for upcoming dates and venues.

U10 Blitzes (9 a side)

1.       Saturday, August 17^th  - football - venues St Vincents

2.       Saturday, September 21^st - hurling - Whitechurch

U8 Blitzes (7 a side)

1.       Saturday, July 27^th - hurling - St Vincents

Lee Flag Programme Returns for 2013

Coiste Oiliúna are pleased to announce details of the LEE FLAG Club Accreditation Scheme for 2013. The scheme, originally established in 2010, has been re-launched to help Coiste Oiliúna and Coiste Chontae reward clubs who are engaging in coaching and games development best practice around the county. The basic premise behind the scheme is to encourage clubs to meet specific criteria which is designed to aid their development both on and off the pitch.

Details of criteria and incentives for clubs are attached.

JobBridge Internship

If you know of anybody in your area who may be eligible for the below scheme, then please email me and I would be happy to advise you on the next steps in getting on to the scheme.  Note that anybody identified would be assigned duties in their local area.

Please note the GAA has combined with the Dept. of Social Welfare in offering unemployed persons, the opportunity to gain valuable work experience over a period of 9 months working within the GAA.  The person would be working in one of the categories listed below.

Categories of Internship

The GAA/JobBridge Fís Féidireacht Internship Scheme operates in two Project Areas: Games Development and Administration.

Games Development - Project Area:

Games Development Interns are involved in the following:

·         Organisation of Games/Blitzes

·         Organisation of Camps

·         Talent Academy

·         Club/School Link 

·         Coach Education

·         Referee Education

Administration - Project Area:

Depending upon the placement Administrative Interns are given various administrative tasks e.g.

·         Fixtures Programming/Notification;

·         Website updates;

·         Club Audits;

·         Marketing;

·         Promotion/Publicity.

Within each of the Project Areas the GAA has identified a number of categories of internship. The following categories of internship will operate from January 2013 onward:

Games Development - Categories of Internship:

1. Blitz/Coaching Coordinators

    Supervisor: Games Development Administrator (GDA)

    Mentor: County Games Development Manager (CGDM)

2. Urban Blitz/Coaching Coordinators

    Supervisor: Club/School Coaching Officer

    Mentor: GDA

3. Games Management Assistants

    Supervisor: County Games Development Manager (CGDM)

    Mentor: Provincial Games Manager (PGM)

Eligibility

In order to be eligible to participate in GAA/JobBridge Fís Féidireacht Internship Scheme an individual must be:

·         Currently in receipt of a live claim (Jobseekers Allowance/Jobseekers Benefit/Signing for Credits) on the Live Register;

·         And have been in receipt of Jobseekers Benefit, Jobseekers Allowance or signing for Social Insurance Contribution Credits for a total of 3 months or more in the last 6 months.

·         According to guidelines established by the Department of Social Protection periods spent on Back to Education Allowance, VTOS, FÁS/Fáilte Ireland Training courses, Youthreach, FIT, Community Employment Schemes, Social Economy Programme, Rural Social Scheme, Back to Work Scheme, FÁS Job Initiative or Job Assist do count towards meeting the eligibility of JobBridge provided:

·         The individual has completed these programmes

·         The individual has signed back on to the Live Register

·         Is in receipt of Jobseekers Benefits/Allowance or Jobseeker Credits immediately before commencing on JobBridge.
