COACHING AND GAMES ACTIVITIES THIS WEEK 16TH SEPTEMBER 2013

A summary of the main activities being worked on this week are as follows :

The main focus this week is on Post Primary Schools, under 10 and under 8 club blitzes and under 13 Regional activity.

Saturday will see the busiest day of the week with the u 10 football Feile Spraoi Peil taking place in St Vincents. Forty teams attended last Saturdays Feile Spraoi Iomaint Blitz.
The North Region will have u 10 hurling in Glantane while in Riverstick the clubs in Carrigdhoun and Muskerry will be lining out to display their skills.
The under 8 football blitz in Clonakilty will see the start of a programme of blitzes over the next few weeks which were recently launched by James MacCarthy and Kevin O Donovan.

Indeed, James has a very busy schedule this week with club visits to Kilmeen, Kilmacabea St Colms and Castlehaven. He will also be coaching in Rossa College, Clonakilty CS, Schull and Hamilton, Bandon. The main emphasis will be on Lee Flag scheme with clubs and first year football in the schools.

Martin Coleman will be visiting Primary Schools to follow up on teacher education courses held in March and will be in Carrigaline C.S., Crosshaven C.S., and Kinsale C.S. this week. He will also visit Clondrohid as part of the club nursery programme. On Saturday as well as the under 10 hurling blitz Martin will also be involved with the u 13 West hurling squad.

Paudie O Brien will be coaching in Togher Boys N.S., and Passage along with Post Primary sessions in Colaiste An Spioraid Naoimh, North Mon AG and Christians.

Wednesday night will be a very important night for the future path of the development squads when all the mentors come together to review the structure implemented in 2013 and to put forward proposals for 2014. This will no doubt generate much interesting discussion.

Sean Crowley is conducting Primary School visits around the East Region this week. He will also coach twice in Pobalscoil na Trionoide Youghal
this week (Tuesday and Friday). The East Region u 14 hurlers will be in action this Saturday as well as a Monster Blitz in Aghada for under 10s. Sean has been appointed as the new Coach Education Manager in the county and is currently finalising plans for the Winter Coach Education Calendar.

REMINDER:
Clubs have 2 weeks left in the process of qualifying for the Lee Flag Bronze award.
Please note that it is crucial that club review where they are at in relation to meeting the targets set out.
