County Mayor launches new Scór season
The Cork County Scór programme of activity for 2013/14 is up and running following a launch in the Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork.
County Mayor Cllr. Noel O'Connor performed the official honours, applauding the efforts of clubs on promoting cultural activity. For more than four decades, Scór has been the flagship of cultural promotion within the GAA. Competition date schedules for divisional, county, Munster and All Ireland levels are available from divisional cultural/scór officers.
Attendance at the formal launch included Cathaoirleach National Scór Liam à Laochdha, Chairman Cork County Scór Pat Malone; President Cork GAA Board Tony OâMahony in addition to County and divisional Scór representatives.
GAA clubs promote Scór at adult and juvenile levels and it has helped to play an important role on the revival of the native culture and heritage. Both juveniles and adults in towns and villages countrywide have been afforded the opportunity to interact in the best of Irish culture.
Competitions commence within a club and progress onto divisional/district level with the standard of fare ever improving onto county and provincial finals. Scór na nÃg is up and running, confined to participants under 17, Scór na bPaistà is geared for school children with Scór Sinsear catering for participants over 17 years commencing early in the new year.

Imokilly: Lisgoold 7.30pm
Saturday, November 23
Avondhu: St. Patricks NS Mallow 7.30pm
Muskerry, Coachford, 7.30pm
Friday, November 29
Duhallow: Edel Quinn Hall, Kanturk 6pm
The opening county semi-final on Saturday, November 30 in Mournabbey at 6pm involves Muskerry, Duhallow and Avondhu. Thatâs followed by the second semi final on Sunday. December 1 in Ovens at 6pm for Carbery, Imokilly, Seandun and Carrigdhoun.
The County Scór na nÃg Final is confirmed for Sunday, December 15 in Ovens at 4pm.
Club and divisional delegates from throughout the county will convene for the AGM of Cork County Scór at Pairc Ui Rinn, Cork on Tuesday, November 26 commencing at 8pm.
